What is Tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) that most often affect the lungs. Tuberculosis is curable and preventable.

What are the symptoms?

When symptoms do occur, they include cough, weight loss, night sweats and fever. Most people infected with the bacteria do not have symptoms and the only way to find out is to get tested.
